Condensation

Hi!  My name is Sheldon.  This is my blog for school.  I am an 8th grade student in California.  My teacher gave us an assignment to design an experiment to find out where condensation comes from. Condensation is the water drops that form on the outside of a cold bottle or glass.

First I made a claim which is like a hypothesis.  My claim is that water drops on the outside of the bottle come from inside the bottle.  Some of the atoms of liquid comes through the bottle when the liquid is cold.

My experiment works like this: I chose a bottle of brown colored soda and a bottle of water.  I wanted to see if the drops on the outside of the bottle would be the same color as the liquid inside the bottle.

I used a magnifying glass to make my observations.  I took the bottles out of the refrigerator and left them on the counter for 25 minutes.  Then I made my observations.

The evidence that proves my claim is my observations.  The drops on the outside of both containers is the same color as the liquid inside the containers.  This proves my claim.
